COMPETITION RULES
ART. 1
The Competition is opened to organists of any nationality up to the age of 35 (born after 1st January 1989). A maximum of 20 competitors will be admitted to the Competition by the Secretariat (composed of the Secretary, the Coordinator and a teacher in Udine Conservatory, member of the Jury) according to their curriculum vitae and the application date (the admission to the Competition will be communicated by email by 7th September 2024).
ART. 2
The application form is available on the Academy’s website (www.accademiaorganisticaudinese.org); it must be completed, signed and sent to the following e-mail address
- copy of an ID card of the candidate;
- professional curriculum vitae of studies and courses attended.
ART. 3
The registration fee of Euro 100,00, not refundable and to be paid only as confirmation of admission to the Competition, which will be notified by email by 7th September 2024, can be paid by Bank Transfer to the following account holder:

ART. 4
Travel and accommodation costs are to be borne by the competitors.
ART. 5
The Jury will be composed of:
- M° Francesco Di Lernia, Jury President (Umberto Giordano Music Conservatory in Foggia - Italy);
- M° Gustav Auzinger (Austria);
- M° Javier Artigas (Massotti Conservatory Superior de Musica de Murcia - Spain);
- M° Davide Mariano (Jacopo Tomadini Music Conservatory in Udine - Italy);
- M° Luca Scandali (Gioacchino Rossini Music Conservatory in Pesaro - Italy).
The members of the Jury who have had teaching relationships with competitors from 1st January 2023 or currently will be excluded from the evaluation of the respective candidate; upon the establishment of the Commission, each member will issue a signed declaration to this effect.
ART. 6
Jury’s judgement is final and unappealable.
The Jury evaluates competitors at the end of each round. The judgment of each performance is expressed in an arithmetical score as sum of the marks given by each Jury member, according to the criteria and modalities indicated in the specific “Rules of evaluation” prepared by the Secretariat and signed by the Jury members.
ART. 7
Before each round, competitors will show their ID card.
ART. 8
The competition will be organized as follows:
- preliminary round: Palazzolo dello Stella Parish Church, Valentino Zanin organ (1857);
- semi-final round: Marano Lagunare Parish Church, Francesco Dacci organ (1774);
- final round: Muzzana del Turgnano Parish Church, Pietro Nachini organ (1750).
All the Competition rounds are public. The dates and times of the eliminatory and final rounds will be announced by publication on the website by 7th September 2024.
ART. 9
The following prizes will be given:
1st Prize: euro 2.500,00
2nd Prize: euro 1.500,00
3rd Prize: euro 800,00
To the winners may be invited to give a concert at:
- XVII International Friulian Organ Festival G.B. Candotti 2025/26 (Udine - Italy)
- Concert season 2026 S. Maria Assunta in Bibione (Venice - Italy)
ART. 10
The Jury, according to the modalities established by itself and at its own discretion, may not award one or more prizes and use the respective money to increase any other prize awarded to multiple candidates ex-aequo.
ART. 11
In the event of radio, television or recordings, participants are not entitled to any claim against the Organising Committee.
ART. 12
Each competitor may provide for his own assistant to the organ stops (all costs will be at his/her expense) or use an assistant provided by the Organization.
ART. 13
The organizers are not responsible for any damage and/or incident to participants, other people or things during the period of the Competition or with regard to the abovementioned program.
ART. 14
Participation in the Competition entails unconditional acceptance of these rules. For any dispute the Italian text will be the reference.
ART. 15
The candidates will have the opportunity to rehearsal on the instruments in the days before the Competition and in accordance with churches availability and with a calendar organized by the Secretariat. The dates and times for each competitor’s rehearsal will be communicated by email.
COMPETITION PROGRAM
> PRELIMINARY round - (Palazzolo dello Stella – Valentino Zanin Organ, 1857)

> SEMI-FINAL round - (Marano Lagunare – Francesco Dacci Organ, 1774)

- Georg Muffat (1653-1704) from Apparatus Musico Organisticus:
- Toccata seconda or

> FINAL round - (Muzzano del Turgnano – Pietro Nachini Organ, 1750)

- Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583-1643), one Canzona chosen by the candidate (from II Libro di Toccate, Roma 1627-1637)
- a piece chosen between J.K. Kerll or a piece by a Spanish author (only one piece among of those proposed):
- Johann Kaspar Kerll (1627-1693), Passacaglia
- Francisco Correa de Arauxo (1584-1654), Segundo Tiento de Cuarto Tono. Facultad Orgánica, nº XVI
- Jusepe Ximénez (1601-1672), Obra de 1er. Tono de Lleno
